The project has caught the attention of The House of Lord’s Science and Technology select committee, which will report its findings later in the year.
The portal aims to deliver more precise statistics on the level of cyber crime in Europe, and encourage e-crime reporting from victims who are reluctant to go to the police.
A non-profit group called Victims of Internet Crime Europe, or Voice, is behind the scheme. In the US, Internet Fraud Watch and the Internet Crime Complaint Center deal with cyber crime reports, ranging from hacking attacks, illicit images, auction fraud and online scams.
