The move will boost Infineon’s wireline business and help bolster its core telecom business, according to the German-based company. Infineon currently makes routers, switches and VoIP chips, so TI’s DSL customer premise equipment business would give Infineon an end-to-end offering for DSL customers, according to a company statement.
The deal is expected to close during the summer.
