San Jose, California-based Business Objects will now include its new Business Objects Crystal Decisions software with Netezza’s smaller NPS appliance as a single product offering aimed squarely at mid-market firms.

Both companies also said they are working to develop a targeted appliance-based product for SAP AG environments. This appliance will allow users to move information from their SAP business applications into an NPS appliance and analyze and report on it using Business Objects’ tools.

The move extends a jointly-developed technical integration announced last month to include Business Objects SAP Rapid Marts as part of the existing BusinessObjects XI Release 2 platform integration with NPS.

Netezza, which is headquartered in Framingham, Massachusetts, shares many joint customers including CompuCredit, Debenhams, and Epsilon.

The partnership with Netezza is part of Business Objects Open Appliance initiative that also drove the integration, announced earlier this week, of Business Objects’ Crystal Server with IBM Corp’s new C-class appliance Balanced Warehouse that is also aimed at mid-market enterprises.

Additionally, Business Objects also plans to integrate its recently announced Business Objects Crystal Decisions software into IBM’s C3000 appliance as well.
