The deal includes installation, custom mounting, training, supplies and service worldwide for nearly 3,000 devices, as well as printer software.
Xerox will also deploy 51 support staff, called shipboard riders, on all ship missions to ensure equipment runs properly for the 23 aircraft carriers and large deck amphibious ships that have onboard print shops. The other 260 surface ships and submarines will be serviced by Xerox staff when docked at ports.
Every branch of the US Armed Forces has document demands that can emulate that of a large corporate enterprise, said Xerox SVP of its public sector operations Greg Jones.
