Manchester-based IQ provides management and IT consulting services for clients operating in heavily regulated sectors such as pharmaceuticals and financial services. The company has about 15 employees and reported annual revenue of approximately $2.5m in 2006.

Following the acquisition Charles Halpin, currently managing director at IQ, will take over as MD at Acando UK, while Acando’s existing office in Manchester will be integrated with IQ’s facility.

The takeover is the second to be announced by Acando this month, after its move for Swedish business intelligence and management consulting company Deva Management Consulting.
