So far, three Coastal Carolinas Health Alliance (CCHA) member hospitals have installed Omnicell’s OmniRx cabinets, namely Sampson Regional Medical Center, Loris Healthcare System, and Conway Medical Center.
Omnicell’s medication dispensing systems automate the management and dispensing of medications at the point of use, increasing patient safety, improving workflow efficiency, and enhancing security.
The integrated biometric, positive-ID system, touch-screen software, magnetic card readers, and guiding light technology help caregivers access medications quickly and easily. Patient medication profiling, bar code scanning to confirm the identity of medication for restock and selected issues and returns, and complete inventory management tools also help ensure patient safety and improve staff efficiency.
After one of our hospitals spoke very highly of Omnicell, the cooperative conducted an extensive review and decided to partner with Omnicell for the purchase of Pharmacy Point-of-Use Cabinets, explained Michael Smith, director of new vendor relations for CCHA. The hospitals that use OmniRx cabinets seem to be very happy with the product.
