Raytheon’s ship self-defense system (SSDS) Mk 2 is a surface combat direction system with commercial off-the-shelf hardware and software that has been delivered for tactical certification. SSDS Mk 2 open architecture will advance the existing design to meet the US Navy’s open architecture computing environment (OACE) category 3 requirements. OACE is the Navy’s initiative to standardize infrastructure requirements that will permit mission-critical data to be easily transmitted between multiple systems for improved combat and operational responses.

The Performance Technologies’ IP-based platform solution will feature an intelligent shelf manager that will provide remote monitoring capabilities, and an IP-based networking platform for the SSDS system. The remote management capabilities will enable system monitoring and remote diagnostic capabilities to pinpoint any potential system problems.
