AT&T, a provider of mobile broadband networks, has launched mobile broadband network extending access for mobile services, devices, audio and video content to users in central Maine in New England, US.
AT&T’s mobile broadband network is based on the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) family of technologies that includes GSM and UMTS wireless network platforms in the world.
The list of places AT&T extends its services to include Auburn, Augusta, Bowdoin, Bowdoinham, Durham, Farmingdale, Georgetown, Greene, Litchfield, Monmouth, Manchester, Oakland, Phippsburg, Richmond, Sabattus, Sidney, Waterville, West Gardiner, Wiscasset, and Woolrich.
AT&T New England vice president and general manager Steve Krom said with this expansion, their users can enjoy the mobile broadband experience with new devices and mobile applications.
Most AT&T smartphone users get access to their national Wi-Fi network at no cost, and Wi-Fi usage doesn’t count against users monthly data plans, the company said.
Users can measure coverage quality from a street address, intersection, ZIP code or even a landmark users.
