Atos Origin said that its business division and occupational health provider in the UK, Atos Healthcare has been awarded a three-year BPO services contract extension worth over £300m by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).

As per the contract, Atos Healthcare will continue to deliver medical advice and assessment services to support the UK Government’s welfare reform agenda to help people to move into and progress in work, while supporting the most vulnerable.

The contract follows the Memorandum of Understanding with the UK Government that Atos Origin was the first supplier to sign in September this year, after the moratorium was put in place and Francis Maude, Minister for the Cabinet Office, launched negotiations with its top 19 suppliers in July 2010.

Atos Origin CEO Keith Wilman said they have a successful and longstanding relationship with the Department for Work and Pensions and are committed to supporting the Government’s welfare reform agenda to help those who are able get back to work and regain their independence.
