Norton by Symantec announced the availability of Online Family Premier, providing additional new features such as online video monitoring, 90-day histories and automatic usage reports.
Norton Online Family Premier is available at an introductory promotional price for a one year subscription at $29.99.
The basic version of Norton Online Family continues to be available for free.
Norton said that Online Family Premier retains all of the features of the basic version, including organised browsing histories, social network profiling (name, age, email address), instant message chat monitoring and the ability to block specific websites or types of websites that may be inappropriate to visit.
The Premier version’s new video monitoring feature lists videos that have been watched on YouTube and other top video sharing sites, and lets parents view snippets of each video from within the dashboard itself.
The company said that Online Family Premier has enhanced reporting that covers all activities from the past 90-days, including a daily listing of how much total time has been spent using the computer.
The Premier version allows activity reports to be automatically emailed to parents on a weekly or monthly basis.
Norton Online Family Advisory Council chair Marian Merritt said with Norton Online Family Premier they make it even easier to have the conversations all parents need to be having with their kids, respecting their growth and independence while also remaining vigilant against digital dangers.
