Analytic capabilities, social networking know how, and expanded mobile support

By CBR Staff Writer

IBM has launched new software and services, which the company says will enable organisations improve business performance in a global environment and understand how social networking is being used today and implemented into their business.

The company said that the new enterprise social software delivers analytic capabilities that helps users gain access to information and people on-the-fly to collaborate and be more effective in their jobs.

IBM has unveiled its IBM Lotus Connections 3.0, a social networking platform that helps people gain insight and access to relevant information for productivity and also enabling users to connect, create global communities, and find information and resources.

IBM collaboration and social software general manager Alistair Rennie said social business helps organisations transform the way they work by connecting people and in decision-making.

The new IBM services will draw from IBM Strategy and Transformation consulting practice and the company’s understanding of vertical industries and people management issues.

The social business services offerings include social business strategy, assessment and implementation programmes; social network analysis readiness and maturity modeling; leadership and skills development in a social workplace; and governance, policy and privacy management.
