Global services business revenues for mobile enterprise customers are forecast to grow at a 4.3% CAGR over the next four years, reaching $133bn by 2014, according to ABI Research.

Data services including text and email messaging, applications, and data plans are a growing portion of this sector’s revenues, and currently mobile data services’ share of total mobile services revenues is 32%; by 2014 it will reach 42%, the report said.

ABI enterprise practice director Dan Shey said mobile revenue growth for services businesses is driven by data usage.

"Mobile messaging, information access and applications delivered to the growing cadre of enterprise mobile devices help employees in this sector improve productivity, and serve and win customers," Shey said.

For North America and Western Europe, the service sector will constitute 83% of all enterprise mobile services revenues and grow at a CAGR of 4.6% by 2014.

The services sector in all other regions including Eastern Europe, Asia Pacific, Latin America, Middle East and Africa will equal 65% of enterprise mobile services revenues and grow at a more modest 3.3% CAGR through 2014.
