Canon UK is entering European enterprise information and media management market, with a newly launched Consultancy Services business.

The company is collaborating with management consulting firm, Accenture, to market the business initially in the UK, Switzerland, Finland and Austria with six further European countries going live in 2011.

As part of an initial four-year contract, the company is collaborating with Accenture’s sales and consulting capabilities and resources to help build Consultancy Services.

Canon said that the new business is focused on delivering to large European organisations a framework to overcome the challenges faced when managing information and media across multiple channels.

Consultancy Services will build a network of companies that are able to solve customer challenges across a range of vertical markets, in order to bring a portfolio of consultancy services to market.

The imaging offerings provider said that it will continue to look at strategic acquisitions of niche suppliers that add value to the overall proposition, and which fit within the company’s overall business strategy and corporate philosophy.

Canon Europe head of Consultancy Services Gary Horsfall said, one of the biggest challenges faced by European organisations today is the management of their information, imaging and media assets.

"Through our collaboration with Accenture, we will create a series of propositions delivering customised solutions for large European organisations to manage this challenge," Horsfall said.
