Digital security company McAfee has appointed Gert-Jan Schenk as the new president of its Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.

Schenk has 20 years of global sales experience in the security space and has earlier worked at Juniper Networks where he served as senior vice president of EMEA.

In his new role, Schenk will report to the company’s executive vice president of worldwide sales Michael DeCesare.

Prior to Juniper, Schenk was vice president of channels at Unisphere Networks, and before that he was director of channel sales, EMEA, at Redback Networks and regional sales director, Benelux and Central Europe for Madge Networks.

David Quantrell, McAfee’s current president of EMEA, has decided to pursue other business opportunities.

He will continue working with McAfee over the next several months to ensure a smooth transition to his successor.
