Name.com and Fyshh jointly introduced new software development kit (SDK), which helps developers to include the ability to discover, register and manage website domains directly from any iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad.

The new tool set is aimed to help developers innovate how end users experience online video using mobile applications.

The first application built off of the SDK platform is ecaster.tv, a mobile application that enables users to capture videos directly from an iPhone or iPod Touch and share them on a personalised .tv domain name of their choice.

Ecaster.tv integrates directly with Name.com’s registrar services, helping users to search for and register a .tv domain without having to switch between their mobile device and personal computer.

Once the website is registered, users can then upload videos and instantly make them available to view from any Internet-enabled device.

Fyshh director James Hodge said that their goal is to supply users with applications that are increasingly engaging and flush with an expanding set of capabilities.

"The new SDK gives us a solid foundation from which we can build applications that make domain registration and content sharing intuitive and a simple experience for users," Hodge said.
