Fujitsu has launched On-Demand Virtual System Service, a new Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) public cloud service, in japan, that will enable customers to utilise servers and other ICT infrastructure across a network on an on-demand basis.

Fujitsu said that the new public cloud service delivers virtualised ICT infrastructure from its datacenters, providing resources on a metered-use billing system that is based on customer usage.

In addition, the new cloud service allows utilisation of low-cost ICT system resources on an as-needed, when-needed basis, without the need of having to build individual ICT systems.

The On-Demand Virtual System Service 10 configuration templates for virtualised ICT systems, delivers connectivity to various environments and enables connection to existing systems, offers 24/7 help desk service, and provides deployment support for customers’ business applications.

The company also plans to gradually roll out the enw IaaS public cloud service in Australia, Singapore, US, UK and Continental Europe, in fiscal 2010.
