Check Point has unveiled new Security Gateway Virtual Edition (VE) with VMsafe integration, which is designed to secure the cloud and protect dynamic virtual environments from both internal and external security threats.
Check Point claimed that the new Security Gateway VE enables businesses to meet the security, networking and management needs of virtual environments.
The new offering facilitates organisations to secure inter-VM traffic and external networks with granular firewall policies and integrated intrusion prevention capabilities.
The company said that Security Gateway VE allows organisations to automatically apply security policies to all existing or future virtual machines, without changing the existing network topology or downtime during live migration.
Check Point Software Technologies vice president of products Dorit Dor said that the new Security Gateway VE inspects inter-VM traffic at the hypervisor level for seamless security across an organisation’s environment.
"With the Security Gateway VE, customers can simplify the complexities of securing dynamic virtual environments, while leveraging the same infrastructure and unified management used to protect their physical networks," Dor said.
