Fasthosts, a provider of web hosting, has launched a new online storage offering designed for archiving valuable business data, which the company says provides secure off-site storage space within a state-of-the-art UK data centre.
The company said that the online storage offering is designed for all levels of business user, with multiple methods of uploading data, and functionality for sharing documents between teams on and off the premises.
The Fasthosts Secure Online Storage offers businesses substantial cost, scalability and security benefits, according to Fasthosts.
Using cloud-based model, the new offering delivers easy-to-use, fast and secure storage on demand and allows users to utilise the storage as a location for back-up copies or as a primary file store.
The storage capacity is selected according to requirements and can be increased dynamically from 50GB to 2TB, while all data is transferred using SSL, backed-up automatically and stored securely.
The online storage offers flexibility in how data is uploaded – Drive Mapping, web browser access, and FTP access; enables users to share documents across teams and locations; and feature 100Mbps connectivity.
Fasthosts marketing director Steve Holford said that the new secure online storage solution ensures that valuable business data is always backed up securely and on-hand 24/7 from any computer.
The company said that the Fasthosts Secure Online Storage utilises its latest server hardware on the Fasthosts’ Data Center on Demand platform.
