VoipSwitch, a wholly-owned subsidiary of VoiceServe, is offering a Vippie softphone dialer for Apple iPhones, iPods and iPads that enables iPad owners to use the tablet computer as a cell phone.

The dialer requires access to the Internet and an account with VoipSwitch’s Call-to-PBX.

VoipSwitch said that its new offering enables users to make and receive calls, use voicemail, dial from contact lists and record calls. It shows the charge per minute, balance on the user’s account, also maintains call logs with a capability to redial and provides direct access to voicemails.

Michael Bibelman, CEO of VoiceServe, said: "Our Vippie dialer adds a key function to already versatile Apple products by providing economic VoIP dialing services that offer more functionality and are as easy to use as common land line telephones.

"Our dialer enables customers to call anywhere in the world using low cost VoIP rates on their iPhones, iPods and iPads. VoiceServe’s Vippie dialer for these Apple products is available at the Apple’s iTunes website under calltopbx."
