Clarity, a division of Plantronics and a provider of communication offerings for seniors, has launched ClarityLogic 1.0, a patented service that enables customer service reps to remotely access and optimise Clarity amplified phones for the end-user.

The company said that its new service is specifically designed for seniors, which enables someone to remotely adjust settings and configure features on a telephone for the user. Users dial a 1-800 number to connect with a customer service representative who can gain access to the phone via the internet and can then personalise settings.

Clarity said that its new service users do not need internet access for the service to work. When a user dials the ClarityLogic 1-800 number, he or she is connected to a customer service representative while a data message is simultaneously uploaded to a website that the same customer service representative can access.

By this, the customer representative can know the user’s product and make adjustments, such as increasing or decreasing amplification levels; adjusting tone; programming the phonebook; or customising speed dial.

Carsten Trads, president of Clarity, said: "For the senior market, this is a dramatic leap forward in customer service. Clarity has been providing amplified phones, which are the most advanced on the market today, to the senior population for decades.

"By bringing voice and data together specifically to help seniors and their caregivers, we believe ClarityLogic will play a vital role in the home of the future for older generations."
