Dynamsoft, a developer of version control and bug tracking software, has released an update for its version control offering SourceAnywhere, which comes with both Hosted and Standalone editions.

According to Dynamsoft, SourceAnywhere is SQL-based source code control software designed to be a replacement of Microsoft Visual SourceSafe.

The new offering provides integration with Visual Studio, Eclipse and Macromedia Studio, and other MSSCCI compatible IDEs. Its features include, optimised integration with SQL Server Management Studio and uniPaaS and better support for web projects and moving files/folders in IDEs.

The company claims that the new offering enables developers to perform source control operations even during the import process. And MSSCCI Plug-in further boosts performance by up to 30% to 50% in the new release.

Troy Miller, project manager for IT at Technology Solutions, said: "We have some developers using it with Visual Studio 2010 and some other developers using it for source control on a website.

"It works great for both purposes and even better, they have the best customer support I have ever had the pleasure to work with."
