Terremark Worldwide, a provider of managed IT infrastructure services, said that Verizon Business has inked a deal to purchase internet colocation services at its Network Access Points (NAPs) of the Capital Region and the Americas to meet increasing demand from its federal clients to deliver FISMA-compliant data centre services.
As part of the agreement, Verizon will utilise 25,000sqft of colocation space at Terremark’s NAPs in Miami, Florida and Culpeper, Virginia that are designed to meet or exceed federal government standards for data communications and hosting facilities requiring stringent guidelines for power and cooling redundancy.
Joe Crawford, executive director of IT services for Verison, said: "When looking at the federal space, Terremark has clearly distinguished itself as a leader in providing world-class colocation services with some of the highest levels of physical and logical security.
