Open source business intelligence (BI) firm Pentaho has rolled out Data Integration Enterprise Edition 4.0 and Pentaho BI Suite Enterprise Edition 3.6, which include enhancements for reporting, analysis and dashboards as well as the new Agile BI integrated ETL, modeling and data visualisation environment.

The company claims that the new offerings support its Agile BI initiative, which enables organisations to build BI apps more quickly, respond to business changes easily and expedite time-to-value for up to 90% less cost than traditional BI vendors.

According to Pentaho, the new version of Data Integration Enterprise Edition comes with enhancements including, Enterprise Edition Data Integration Server, content management with versioning and team development features, enterprise security, integrated scheduling, usability improvements, unified ETL, and modeling and data visualisation perspectives.

The updates to allengines on the Pentaho BI Server include, Pentaho Data Integration engine upgrade to 4.0; Pentaho Analysis engine upgrade to Mondrian 3.2; and Pentaho Reporting engine upgrade to 3.6.2. The Pentaho Analysis enhancements include, member property support in analyser and scheduling support in analyser including ability for a schedule to email an analyser report.

In addition, the Pentaho Dashboards enhancements include, configurable refresh intervals for individual dashboard widgets or the dashboard as a whole; and ability to define filter control lists based on Pentaho Metadata data sources.
