HOB has launched an enhanced version of PPP Tunnel designed for enterprises to provide employees with secure access to their corporate network environments.

The PPP Tunnel, an integral of HOB RD VPN (Remote Desktop Virtual Private Network), brings together the functionality of SSL VPN with IPSec and offers improved graphical design and user interface.

The company claims that PPT Tunnel provides a cost-effective offering to deliver secure remote access, without the complexities associated with SSL VPN systems. On the local client side, the new offering requires no additional installation of drivers or software.

The PPT Tunnel requires only a Java-capable browser while its integrated data compression technology provides enhanced performance, even with slow internet connections. It currently supports clients with Windows Vista and Windows 7 operating systems.

Klaus Brandstätter, CEO of HOB, said: “We are constantly tweaking our products based on the needs and feedback of our customers. We are pleased to offer our clients with a new version of the PPP Tunnel that offers an upgraded user interface designed to be more intuitive and easier to operate.

“The PPP Tunnel is ideal for home office workers who need access to an Intranet, email and desktop via RDP or administrators and managers requiring full network access, all of this is possible without installation on the client side.”

The company said that it will soon launch a new version of its comprehensive security offering HOB RD VPN 1.4 NetAccess, which will include an upgraded PPP Tunnel, supporting Linux/Unix and Mac OS X platforms.
