Juniper Networks has announced new enhancements to its Software-Defined Secure Networks (SDSN) platform to boost security across multi-vendor environments and public and private clouds.
With the growth of cybersecurity, organisations are forced to patch various security products together in hope of improving their security without knowing what is being patched. This then leaves gaps in the protection aspect, delivering ineffective infrastructure.
To change this, Juniper’s SDSN platform has been revealed with its ecosystem to offer help to organisations looking to unify security for their networks. This provides customers with an easier way to integrate products and 
manage their security operations.
The platform is designed to know exactly when and how a defence is needed for an organisation’s people, data and infrastructure with the power of automated enforcement, real-time intelligence and machine learning. It also offers an open framework to simplify the operation.

“The enhancements we are announcing today will further enable our customers to achieve broad protection from malware and other attacks in an automated and real-time way, while streamlining management of heterogeneous networks.”
The company has made enhancements to its Junos Space Security Director Policy Enforcer to enforce a security policy across the network to prevent threats across firewalls, Juniper switches and third-party switches for use with other vendors. It is also designed to deliver protection against moving threats.
Its malware protection service adds detection of threats in email to deliver advanced detection rapidly and target the most destructive attacks like ransomware.
Juniper’s open APIs enable seamless integration with its security ecosystem partners, such as its integration with ForeScout CounterACT helps secure connectivity and visibility to multi-vendor network elements.
For public and private cloud integration, the SDSN components have been built to integrate with third-party cloud systems to provide security across the clouds.
This will include the option to leverage VMware NSX with Policy Enforcer and VSRX for private cloud security and Microsoft Azure integration with Juniper’s firewall and VSRX for public cloud.
