Norman, a provider of proactive security offerings, has launched Security Suite PRO Version 8 for valued added resellers and managed service providers serving the US market.
According to Norman, the new version has the ability to detect and prevent installation of rogue antivirus programs currently plaguing PC users of the internet and offers protection against all types of internet malware threats such as viruses, worms, trojans, spyware and hackers.
The new security offering includes features such as intrusion guard and privacy tools and is enriched by Norman’s anti-malware technology to ensure online safety, the company said.
According to Norman, the new intrusion guard prevents unauthorised programs from taking control of PC such as rogue antivirus programs. The utility called Advanced System Reporter is a reporting tool that helps users to log, block and stay warned against any hostile activity from intruders such as spyware, injection attempts, rootkits, deceptive applications and cyber attacks.
The Norman Privacy Tools help users to select individual privacy levels. The privacy tool application offers deletion feature wiping an internet browser history file 7 times with random data to guarantee safe deletion. It also provides options to delete temporary files and logs from browsers and the operating system, the company said.
In addition, the Intrusion Guard and Privacy Tools comes with new features in Norman Security Suite PRO which include an anti-spam module, management capabilities to create block-and-allow lists for email, a new, user-friendly interface, detailed security status and activity summary reports and parental control to protect children against unwanted content, Norman said.
