Siemens Enterprise Communications has launched OpenScape Xpressions, the latest addition to the OpenScape unified communications portfolio.
OpenScape Xpressions offers a pre-packaged unified communications (UC) system that is designed to facilitate integration into multi-vendor environments, including private branch exchanges on the market.
OpenScape Xpressions works with existing telephony infrastructures and offers UC with built-in voice mail, unified messaging, instant messaging, presence, and audio and web conferencing. This is claimed to be Siemens ongoing effort to eliminate the barriers to UC adoption by offering services that are more affordable and accessible to enterprises, as well as delivering on the company’s open communications commitment to interoperability.
The latest version of Xpressions expands on its voice and messaging features to offer UC features such as built-in instant messenger and point-and-click calling and video/web conferencing. By eliminating the need for external conferencing bridges, the service offers the potential to pay for itself, while improving collaboration.
Eve Aretakis, executive vice president for global product management and development at Siemens Enterprise Communications Group, said: Unlike other UC solutions on the market that can tax already limited IT resources, OpenScape Xpressions provides organizations with a flexible, yet simpler and more affordable UC option that is designed to require little set up, with attainable cost reduction and productivity benefits people have come to expect from UC.
