ARINC has said that the radio and dispatch console system replaces older technology and provides two-way radio coverage throughout the new Terminal 5 complex, while making use of JetBlue’s existing frequencies.

The equipment installed at Terminal 5 by ARINC Radio Technology Solutions and its partners Avtec Systems and Kenwood includes a five-channel UHF Trunking system and six VHF-AM radios and antenna systems to fully support air-ground flight operations.

A 24-position dispatch console system was integrated with the VHF air-ground radios and UHF ground-ground radio system. The console system is a multi-line, multi-operator design that allows a number of console dispatchers to access each other as well as any of the radio and telephone circuits connected to the system.

Marisa Wieding, director of operations for JFK at JetBlue, said: JFK Terminal 5 was designed to make the JetBlue customer experience as efficient and comfortable as possible. We are very pleased with the advanced solution ARINC has provided us.
