Logica has won a three-year contract from Finland-based airline Finnair to provide end-user services, workstation environment maintenance and management, and server management. Datamonitor estimates the value of the deal to be approximately $24m.
Logica will provide workstation support, workstation lifecycle, server management, mobile terminal support, and remote work services for Finnair’s 9,500 employees.
The company already provides Finnair with a range of applications across business areas, including web services, CRM, ERP, and financial management.
Kari Saarikoski, CIO of Finnair, said: In challenging economic circumstances, we must focus on developing Finnair. Our IT operations have reached the stage where we can achieve real savings. A trusted IT-outsourcing partner helps us to focus our efforts on our core business. We were struck by Logica’s nimble way of operating and direct approach to customer care.
Leena-Mari Lahteenmaa, managing director of IT infrastructure solutions at Logica, Finland, said: The long-term co-operation between Logica and Finnair has been based on open paths of communication and versitility. This agreement will further strengthen Logica’s position as a major provider of IT services for the European aviation industry. Finnair has a challenging IT environment as IT services have to be provided for employees wherever they are: in foreign outlets, airports or hotels, or those working as guides in destination countries. We look forward to working on this project and providing some exceptional services.
