UK’s largest tech company, Sage, has confirmed it is to acquire Fairsail, the global cloud Human Capital Management (HCM) system provider for mid-sized businesses.

The acquisition will see Sage take full ownership of Fairsail, which builds on the success of the shared product, Sage People, which was launched last year.

The Sage People product extends Fairsail’s functionality to include payroll, and also forms part of Sage’s golden triangle vision which provides customers with a single cloud solution to manage people and payroll, payments and accounting.

Fairsail’s higher revenue business has led to a wide growth over the past three years. This now scales to £10m and also sees a gain of over 140,000 users in businesses headquartered in over 20 countries during this time.

Fairsail is to also develop on Sage’s existing partnership with Salesforce, as Fairsail is known as an HCM provider and people solution on the Salesforce App Cloud. Fairsail is also one of the top global ISVs in their partner ecosystem, according to Sage.

The combined portfolio provides growth opportunities from new customer acquisition internationally and also cross-sell to the combined customer base.

Stephen Kelly, CEO, Sage said: “We have been unequivocal about giving growing and ambitious businesses a real-time, frictionless way to manage their entire businesses in the cloud, to create an environment of ‘invisible admin.’

“Building on our successful partnership with Fairsail, this acquisition will accelerate our people offering, ensuring our customers can manage people, their most precious asset, with visibility of the rest of their business.

“This integrates everything from talent acquisition to people analytics in one online system- helping businesses in recruiting, engaging and retaining top talent.”

Fairsail’s service has previously been deployed within Sage and also used across other businesses such as Aveva, Armstrong, Paddy Power and more.

The acquisition follows from Sage’s previous 20.7 percent share of the company which led to Fairsail becoming the cloud HCM platform to pair with Sage’s X3 Business Management Solution.
