Showing just how popular tablets are on this year’s Christmas lists, Tesco has sold out of its Hudl Android tablets just weeks before Christmas. That’s in turn pushing the price up on eBay – you can find as-new Hudl’s going for over £160 as people scrabble to get them under their Christmas trees.

A brand new, sealed Hudl in black has had 39 bids at time of going to press, with its price at £160 with two hours of the auction left to run (plus £8 postage). That’s not a bad little profit on a device that retails for £119 new, or even less if you have a few Tesco Clubcard points to trade in.

It’s perhaps unsurprising the Hudl is doing so well. Not only is it considerably cheaper than many of the rivals, but reviews have found it to be pretty sturdy too, making it ideal for kids or families. With its low price point, ‘good enough’ specifications and even a range of funky colours (purple, blue, red or just black) it’s the ideal family tablet. Shame they’ll cost you almost double the going price until Tesco is able to restock. Once it does, you’ll find a Hudl direct from Tesco online here.
