ZTE Corp., a China-based provider of telecommunications equipment and network services, together with Hong Kong-based mobile operator CSL, has announced the availability of a SDR-based HSPA+ All IP commercial network.
Jointly developed by the two companies, the new HSPA+ network is expected to provide CSL subscribers with high-speed wireless download of up to 21Mbps.
Developed in stages since the network project begun construction in March 2008, the network will be up and running by end of March 2009. During the first phase of the project, CSL deployed ZTE’s SDR technology that allows CSL to flexibly manage their network modules and services.
