Level 3 Communications’s business markets group has announced that it is expanding its operations in the Washington, DC, area.
According to Level 3, this initiative is expected to give mid-market businesses even greater access to its voice, internet and data services. The company continues to expand its portfolio of service offerings for enterprises to include technologies such as ethernet, a technology that provides high-bandwidth access for businesses.
In addition to expanding its service portfolio, Level 3 is planning to continue to expand its fiber-optic footprint, which already passes more than 20,000 business locations throughout the DC, northern Virginia and southern Maryland.
As part of this increased local focus, Level 3 is planning to grow and realign its workforce in the DC area, as such; the company will be expanding its sales and customer support employees in the area.
William Ganey, general manager for Washington, DC at Level 3, said: We understand that the national economy is struggling right now and many companies are curbing or halting expansion plans, but the DC area remains a thriving business community, and we believe it is an ideal time to expand and take advantage of business opportunities.
