Orange, a brand of France Telecom, and Research In Motion have launched the new BlackBerry Curve 8900 smartphone in Spain.
According to Research In Motion (RIM), the BlackBerry Curve 8900 is a quad-band smartphone, which combines phone, email, messaging, organizer, web browser and multimedia applications, and features built-in Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth, as well as a 512MHz processor.
RIM has said that the BlackBerry Curve 8900 smartphone features: a full-QWERTY keyboard and intuitive trackball that allow easy typing and navigation; a 3.2 megapixel camera, with auto focus, digital zoom, flash and video recording, and microSD/SDHC expandable memory card slot, which can support up to 16Gb of memory per card.
The BlackBerry Curve 8900 smartphone can be used with BlackBerry Enterprise Server, which offers enterprises advanced security and IT administration in IBM Lotus Domino, Microsoft Exchange and Novell GroupWise environments, as well as BlackBerry Professional Software for SMEs. It can also be used with BlackBerry Internet Service, which enables access to up to 10 supported business and personal email accounts from a single device.
RIM claims that with the BlackBerry Curve 8900 smartphone, users can also edit Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents directly on the smartphone using the preinstalled Documents to Go application from DataViz.
