Schneider Electric has introduced a new digital service that connects data centre physical infrastructure assets to its cloud, enabling the delivery of simplified and faster services.
With real-time visibility into system performance, maintenance and service requirements via mobile app, the new StuxureOn service provides data-driven analytics which can proactively advise of potential failures. This aims to fundamentally improve the ability to service critical equipment prior to failure.
As part of the digital service, Schneider Electric’s Service Bureau personnel is readily available to remotely troubleshoot an issue or, in cases that can’t be addressed remotely, dispatch a field service representative armed with the necessary information and equipment to quickly resolve the issue and minimise downtime.
Schneider Electric aims to bring IoT to the data centre with StruxureOn, optimising the way data is analysed, stored and delivered as actionable information to improve decision-making around data centre maintenance, uptime and incident management.
Rhonda Ascierto, Research Director, Datacenter Technologies, 451 Research said: “Cloud services and IoT are sweeping through industry, with major digital transformations under way at many of the world’s largest corporations.
“The IoT initiative at Schneider Electric appears to be wide-reaching and StruxureOn is a move that could fundamentally change the DCIM software as well as the data centre services engagement model.”
The company also revealed its GalaxyVX, which is a compact three-phase UPS with flexible operating modes for large facilities, data centres and business-critical applications.
The ‘pay-as-you-grow’ solution aims to support enterprises in their move to hyperscale data centres, enabling them to reap the greater value in their IT deployments by delivering efficiency without compromising realiability. This will be available from 750kW to 1,5MW ratings and can be paralleled to support multi-MW load power requirement.
Gael Souchet, Senior product & launch manager, Schneider Electric said: “Our customers have three main challenges, these are risk management, encompassing reliability, ease of maintenance and safety, capital preservation and reducing operating expenses.
“Galaxy VX addresses each of these with improved technology, greater ease of use and compatibility with a variety of power architectures.”
