Intel Security has unveiled new products, partner programmes and branding as it defines its strategy for separating from current owner Intel. The company, which will now be called McAfee by Intel, announced products including Dynamic Endpoint, which unifies endpoint protection workflows on a single management console.

It also announced the Pervasive Data Protection product, which includes data loss prevention and encryption and helps organisations control how available sensitive data is.

In addition, the company introduced solutions for securing data centres and the cloud, as well as Intelligent Security Operations, which provides visibility, investigation capabilities and analysis of malware.

The company also announced new partner programmes as part of the Intel Security Innovation Alliance, including integrations with Check Point, HP Enterprise Aruba and MobileIron.

It also announced that it would be working with Huawei to provide indicator of compromise alerts to products.

The alliance will provide customers of vendors such as CyberArk, Fortscale and Exabeam with user behaviour analytics capabilities.

Another initiative announced was the OpenDXL Initative, which provides a standardised application framework to integrate technologies from different vendors and with in-house developed applications.

The sell-off of Intel Security, announced in September, will see Intel selling a majority stake of 51 percent in its security unit McAfee to private-equity firm TPG. The change will come into effect from April.

“Cyber criminals are forcing cyber security companies to redraft the rules of engagement for defending the civilised world; to effectively counteract them, we have to abandon old security playbooks to become more unpredictable and collaborative and make cyber defence a priority,” said Chris Young, senior vice president and general manager of Intel Security Group.

“Our strategic charter is simple, yet disruptive: integrate, automate and orchestrate the threat defence lifecycle to drive better security outcomes – ultimately reducing more risk, faster and with fewer resources.”
