Zebra Technologies has announced the launch of its QuikCard ID system. The company claimed that the new offering is designed for the requirements of small to mid sized businesses and entry-level card applications.
The QuikCard ID system comprises Zebra’s P110i or P120i card printer with card design software and design templates that allow users to customise and print single or dual-sided, full-colour cards and badges.
Les Dickin, head of product marketing at Zebra Technologies, EMEA, said: The QuikCard ID Solution is designed to meet the access and ID needs of smaller organisations without requiring capital investment or technical expertise. By removing these entry barriers, Zebra’s solution offers new and existing market segments a way to deploy entry level card applications.
The company stated that the new offering would enable users to design, print and issue colour Photo ID cards for applications like access control badges, visitor ID management and retail loyalty and membership cards.
In addition, its design templates and template designer will enable creation and editing of ID cards. It also includes a Load-N-Go ribbon cartridge to facilitate ribbon installation and i Series auto-ribbon detection to configure printer and monitor ribbon status. It also has a USB web camera and mini-tripod for image capture to include in photo ID cards.
The company informed that the new offering is available in four different models for single or dual sided printing, with or without magnetic encoding. It provides support for magnetic encoding, 1D bar codes, image and photo import capabilities and conditional print features. It can also import or store card issuance information in Microsoft Excel and CSV datafiles and fit into any office environment.
