3Tera has launched version 2.7 of its AppLogic cloud computing platform, which it claims to reduce the cost by adding automatic diagnostics, system self-healing, and other enhancements to improve service availability.
The company said that the new version integrates server, storage and networking virtualisation, hardware operations, volume management through integrated IP SAN, network security, orchestration and multi-service operations into one cloud computing system.
According to 3Tera, the AppLogic allows datacentre operators to provide IaaS, PaaS, and virtual datacentre services from a single platform, add or remove resources and storage without disrupting users, and manage and scale remote resources. It also allows to handle hardware failures automatically, in addition to providing resource usage metering for billing and charge-backs.
IT cloud users can use AppLogic to deploy and scale existing web applications without changing code and architecture. They can also integrate, monitor and scale applications and infrastructure using just a browser, and package distributed systems for easy operation and portability, securely exchange date between multiple servers in the cloud, replicate web applications between multiple datacenters, the company said.
Reportedly, automatic diagnostics and self healing feature in AppLogic 2.7 include Storage health monitoring, to monitor and detect hard drive issues; Automatic volume repair, to automatically schedule and performs volume repair; Controller soft restart, to restart without impacting the operation of subscriber’s applications; Improved server isolation, to eliminate failed servers.
