Embedded systems developer RadiSys has entered into a partnership with Aricent and 6Wind to deliverĀ  application-ready platforms for the Long Term Evolution (LTE) Evolved Packet Core (EPC).

RadiSys said, through collaboration with Aricent and 6Wind, it will deliver ATCA Promemtum platform, a comprehensive LTE signalling stack and data path software in one, fully-integrated offering that lowers development risk for TEMs.

According to RadiSys, the pre-packaged platform offering combines its ATCA hardware with 6Wind’s Datapath software and Aricent’s LTE stack framework. Aricent’s LTE EPC software frameworks are pre-integrated control plane software modules suitable for LTE Macro/Micro EPC nodes, supporting Serving Gateway, Packet Gateway and Mobility Management Entity capabilities.

The addition of the 6WIND Datapath creates a complete stack for packet processing. It is suitable for LTE high performance equipment. It provides a complete L2-L4 packet processing engine based on Fast Path, a data plane specifically optimised to benefit from multicore performance, the company said.

Reportedly, RadiSys’ platform offerings use the processing technologies from Intel and Cavium Networks, Wind River’s carrier grade Linux operating system, and high availability middleware from Enea and GoAhead Software, along with the Enea System Manager platform-management system.

Anthony Ambrose, vice president and general manager of communications networks at RadiSys, said: As the industry’s first 10G platform, RadiSys has now delivered more than 35 different applications for our customers. In order to provide TEMs looking to enter the LTE market with an even greater time-to-market advantage, we’ve partnered with Aricent and 6WIND to deliver the industry’s first LTE-ready platform that can reduce deployment time by 50%.
