Realtek Semiconductor purchased Teradyne’s UltraFLEX test system and UltraWave 12G instrumentation equipped with the Embedded Signal Analyzer toolkit.

Realtek will test WLAN 802.11n multiple-input and multiple-output with PCI-E system-on-a-chip devices for laptop and desktop PCs.

According to Teradyne, the recently introduced Embedded Signal Analyzer (ESA) toolkit embeds vector signal analysis software tools and functions into Teradyne’s IG-XL software, while adding an wireless waveform library covering more than 20 wireless cellular and connectivity standards.

Teradyne said that the ESA toolkit allows the same debug tools and measurement algorithms to span design, bench verification and automatic test equipment for correlation. Used in conjunction with the UltraFLEX Background DSP, the ESA toolkit also enables modulation test in volume multi-site production with zero test time impact for data transfer, computation and data logging.

The ESA toolkit is supported and available on the UltraFLEX test system’s radio frequency (RF), analog and digital instruments and is also available for use with off-line IG-XL workstations.

Kyle Klatka, product manager of wireless business unit at Teradyne, said: We are pleased that Realtek has selected the ESA Toolkit not only to reduce test development and debug time, but also to lower its cost of test and increase product quality in production. Modulated signal analysis is becoming more common as base-band, RF and other functions continue to integrate into a single RF SIP/SOCs.
