Apple has fixed issues relating to its latest iOS 10 software update after reports surfaced that the process bricked some devices.
Many iPhone and iPad users have complained that their devices got ‘bricked’ or rendered useless while updating the iOS 10.
Several social media platforms including Facebook and Twitter were flooded with messages and reports about the update making devices unusable.
Soon Apple rushed a fix and said that connecting to iTunes through PC and clicking on ‘restore’ can restore the device.
It also added that in some cases the restore button could restore the device with the new iOS 10 or could simply return to the previous version iOS 9.3.5.
Some have suggested that opting for over the air (OTA) iOS 10 update could have caused the bricking issue and updating through iTunes seems to be working fine.
Apple said in a statement: “We experienced a brief issue with the software update process, affecting a small number of users during the first hour of availability.
“The problem was quickly resolved and we apologise to those customers. Anyone who was affected should connect to iTunes to complete the update or contact AppleCare for help.”
Apple claims that the iOS 10 is one of the biggest iOS releases ever with important features such as messaging apps with more emojis and animations and new notification system for the lock screen.
