The changes keep on coming at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, this time it’s a management role.
Marc Waters, who was acting managing director of the UK and Ireland, has been named head of the company’s operations, according to The Register.
Waters was made the acting MD in July and joined HP in 1999 as a service sales specialist before moving up the ranks with a number of different roles such as director of strategy, integration and communications, UK public sector sales director, and VP of the Enterprise Group.
The company that he’ll be leading is going through a number of dramatic changes that will have to be carefully managed. Firstly the Enterprise Services unit is being spun off with CSC taking a 50% share, and secondly the Enterprise Software unit is being spun off in an $8.8bn deal with Micro Focus.
HPE is constantly going through changes, a split, and now spin mergers of some very large assets.
The ongoing changes haven’t been constrained to just HPE as HP Inc has also been eating up the column inches. HP made its biggest acquisition since the split by acquiring Samsung’s printer business for $1.05 billion.
The company also revealed that it had signed a six-year CRM deal with Microsoft for its sales and support staff to use, moving away from Salesforce and Oracle.
The deal will see Microsoft Dynamics rolled out to approximately 6,500 HP salespeople and 20,000 support staff. The deal is being billed as a major win for Microsoft over its competitors in the CRM market.
