Oracle has enhanced the capabilities of Oracle Identity Manager. The new enhancements reportedly allow enterprises to enforce granular Segregation of Duties (SoD) in enterprise applications, including the Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle’s PeopleSoft Enterprise and SAP ERP applications. Enterprises can also automate user provisioning and manage, monitor and report on SoD-compliant user access in real-time. Real-time monitoring and enforcement of SoD policies are expected to enable enterprises to reduce security risk from fraudulent activities.

The new SoD integration architecture, incorporated in Oracle Identity Manager, provides hot-pluggable support for all leading SoD engines including Oracle Applications Access Controls Governor and SAP Business Objects Access Controls.

Amit Jasuja, vice president of Oracle Identity Management, said: SoD policy enforcement is a critical component of user provisioning but without support for heterogeneous IT environments it can become a cumbersome, costly and error-prone process.

Oracle is also shipping the new Oracle Identity Manager connector for Oracle E-Business Suite. The new Oracle Identity Manager Connector claims to help reduce cost of ownership by simplifying user management and ensuring un-fragmented, centralised audit trail.

Mr Jasuja said: “With the enhancements to Oracle Identity Manager, we believe we have greatly simplified the process. By automating and integrating SoD policy enforcement with disparate IT systems and applications, Oracle is furthering its commitment to help customers reduce security risks, comply with industry regulations and lower cost of ownership.
