Bangkok company Alphatec Electronics Co Ltd has acquired National Semiconductor Corp’s assembly and test facility in Bangkok, Thailand: the acquisition covers a fully integrated site established way back in 1973, and includes 1,500 employees a 185,000 square foot factory and all equipment; terms of the acquisition were not disclosed, but NatSemi will be a partner and major customer, maintaining volume assembly of memory chips at the plant.
