NCR Corp is cutting the cost of its Safari NSX/20 40Mb notebook computer to $4,200 from $4,800 and distributing it via the combined NCR and AT&T value added reseller, dealer and direct sales channels: the Safari 40Mb model has 2Mb of random access memory, expandable to 6Mb, and includes a 2,400bps modem; the 80Mb model, which began shipping last month, costs $5,800, and it has 4Mb of random access memory expandable to 8Mb, with a 2,400-9,600bps, two-way facsimile modem that works with cellular phones; both models are loaded with MS-DOS 4.01, Windows 3.0, AT&T Access Plus for Windows and built-in tutorial.
