In its effort to widen the user base of its Cosine X25-based pan-European network, the European Community-funded Eureka project has established a support project aimed at getting less computer-literate user groups on the network: until now, says the Cosine Project Management Unit, the Open Systems Interconnection-based network has been dominated by information technicians whereas the original idea behind Cosine was a carrier for multi-disciplinary research information; Logica Plc, London has been enlisted to provide a central support unit guiding novice users through the network, and support from staff working on other Cosine services will be made available; one of the first named participants in the project is the European Consortium for Political Research.
