Hauppauge Computer Works Inc of Hauppauge, New York, has a personal computer card that enables standard video to appear inside a moveable, resizable VGA display window in the Windows 3.0 graphical environment: menus in that window enable users to adjust colour saturation, hue, brightness and contrast and to select from three NTSC or PAL video sources; the Win/TV provides a pass-through connection between a computer’s VGA card and monitor and inserts the video picture; this is said to eliminate the problem of computer system bus and memory speeds being too slow to display full-motion images in real time; the card communicates with its companion software to determine the size and position of the on-screen window, and whether the image that will occupy it should be the full-screen video or a zoom-in image of a selected area; Win/TV is $500.
