Corp’s LAN Manager, IBM Corp’s PC LAN, Banyan Systems Inc’s Vines, CBIS Network-OS, Ungermann-Bass Inc One, and other MS-Net based networks. The card has a fax-as-you-print design philosophy, although facsimile creation and transmission is identical to normal document creation and printing from any MS-DOS application – for example, from WordPerfect 5.1 the user composes a high-quality, mixed-mode text and graphics document, which is printed through WordPerfect to LPT3, which is configured as a phantom printer port, operating as an additional network HP LaserJet. The print job is intercepted and the fax card transmits the document as a laser-quality fax. Soft-fonts can be downloaded to Advanced EZ-FaxLAN, and are retained as long as the computer remains powered, even if the facsimile software is not used or is unloaded from memory. A Z cartridge font is included free. The product’s client station takes up only 7Kb of conventional memory. Advanced EZ-FaxLAN is available now in two versions – AVS96, for up to eight stations, priced at $1,400, and AVL, which has no maximum number of stations, which costs $1,800. Both versions include an EZ-FaxLAN 9600 bps fax-card with workstation and server software. Entry level products are available in two versions – ESS for up to eight stations at $500, and ESL, at $900.
