The company’s minority-owned Japanese affiliate is doing its bit for Unisys Corp and Nippon Unisys Kaisha reported good sales of its two lines of mainframe computers last financial year, with a total of 35 sales made or expected: the first sale of the 2200/900 super large mainframe, from the old Univac line, was installed at Yamaichi Securities, and the first installation of the A19, from the Burroughs side of the house, at Kyoto communications equipment retailer Nissen; the A19 was announced in Japan last year ahead of the rest of the world and features a system memory capacity that is expandable up to 2Pb.
