Virginia-based InterCon Systems Corp’s network management software for the Macintosh, WatchTower, is now shipping: WatchTower provides the capability to manage several TCP/IP-connected subnets, and it can detect and isolate network failures, monitor traffic, gauge performance, and detect potential network problems before they create a failure; InterCon is to display WatchTower at the Santa Clara Mactivity ’91 Conference later this month; WatchTower is based on the Simple Network Management Protocol and it runs on any Macintosh personal computer; users can gather information about network performance from SNMP Agent software installed throughout a TCP/IP-connected network, and it supports a range of SNMP management information bases like MIB-1 and MIB-2.
